UNFPA in  collaboration with the national population council oprganized a training for mid-level reporters on population issues in relation to the ICPD beyond 2014 and the global agenda.

UNFPA in  collaboration with the national population council oprganized a training for mid-level reporters on population issues in relation to the ICPD beyond 2014 and the global agenda. the two days workshop 24th&25th of June was attended by twenty representatives of different media channels,and inaugurated by HE the state minister of social security and welfare. the national population council and UNFPA deputy representative/OIC. The training covered the following aspects:

  • The role of media advocating for population issues.
  • The ICPD programme from 1994 to 2014.
  • Population issues with focus on youth,reproductive health and migration.
  • The linkage between the ICPD PoA and the global development agenda.

The major outcome of this training ,which was a kick off to the world population day 2014 and the launch of ICPD beyond 2014 report, was the recommendation of putting in place a media network for population issues.
