This situation report describes the situation in Sudan as clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have continued for over eight weeks, with ongoing fighting in Khartoum, El Obeid and the Darfur region. Since April 15, more than 1.6 million people have been forced into displacement, including 1.2 million internally displaced.
UNFPA is adapting its activities across Sudan on life-saving humanitarian response in the face of acute needs with the active participation and involvement of affected populations. UNFPA’s response plan - with a focus on supporting sexual and reproductive health, and preventing and responding to gender-based violence - is built on established inter-agency partnerships and collaboration with the national and regional governments and partners.
